Fern Greenwell joined ICF in 2016. She is a demographer and global health expert whose work over the past 20 years has focused on the design, collection, and analysis of health and demographic statistics to measure population health status and health system performance.
In her role as Senior Technical Specialist in Strategic Health Information, she leads projects and provides technical inputs that support the alignment of national routine health information systems and civil registration vital statistics systems with global standards. She has worked extensively in countries in Africa, Eurasia, and eastern and central Europe.
Ms Greenwell has worked for, or collaborated with, global partners and programs including WHO, UNICEF, Global Fund, DHS Program, European Commission, USAID, World Bank, and others. She is fluent in French and has good working knowledge of Spanish and Russian.
Ms Greenwell has a PhD in Demography from University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
