The development and implementation of energy efficiency technology requires a skilled workforce trained in analysis, technology installation, and operations management. The Central Asian Energy Efficiency Support Program (CAEESP) recognized stakeholder interest and the need for a region-specific online learning platform to support continued energy efficiency technical education.
From May 2013 through March 2014, the Energy Efficiency for Clean Development Program (EECDP) developed the Central Asia Energy Efficiency Learning Portal (CAEELP) to help establish a community of practice in the region. Due to its relatively high internet penetration and low population density, Central Asia was ideal for this project, which sourced from CAEESP’s deep pool of in-country and regional experts to develop the content and functionality of the portal. The portal provides a Russian language platform to disseminate energy efficiency best practices, interactive education, a case study database, and an equipment database.
