ICF will deliver a poster presentation at the upcoming Public Health Informatics Conference. The poster highlights decision-making criteria and a framework for prioritizing investments in eHealth interventions for developing countries that address reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH). The study demonstrates a need for setting policies and providing guidance on eHealth interventions promoting long-term sustainability and integration with existing local health systems.
Information and communication technology (ICT) can be both a lever and a catalyst to improve the quality of education and to enhance the effectiveness of traditional face-to-face training approaches. The increasing popularity of eHealth systems to address global health disparities requires thoughtful consideration of how eHealth will integrate with existing systems. In the absence of communication between eHealth systems and local healthcare infrastructure, health providers will be unable to achieve a sustainable scale.
