FEMA’s Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program is open and has $600 million in funding available this year to states, local governments, tribes, and certain districts participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Applications are due to FEMA on August 6, 2026, with subapplications due earlier to states—making now the time to act to secure funds. This annual, nationally competitive grant from FEMA is designed to reduce long-term flood risk for properties insured under the NFIP.

The FMA program supports a range of activities, including planning, project scoping, and the implementation of flood mitigation projects like property acquisition, elevation, floodproofing, and localized risk reduction measures.

Join our webinar on Wednesday, June 24, from Noon-1pm ET (9-10am PT) to learn more about the program, what types of projects are prioritized, and how to submit a competitive application. Our experts will walk through details of the program and how you can demonstrate cost-effectiveness to secure funds.
