Tara Hamilton


Tara Hamilton is a communications specialist and an environmental planner. A former editor and land conservation professional, Ms. Hamilton provides technical expertise, management support, and editing services to a range of clean energy and climate change mitigation and adaptation projects.

Recent work includes developing a climate-readiness communication plan for the U.S. Navy (USN); evaluating 90 community-led ecosystem-based adaptation strategies for an international nonprofit conservation organization; leading a sustainability employee engagement initiative for the National Park Service (NPS); and facilitating stakeholder engagement in a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) climate-resiliency and disaster relief funding dispersal process.

Ms. Hamilton also leads the development of public-facing materials and websites for U.S. government agencies; writes and edits technical reports for a wide range of audiences; and manages logistical planning for workshops, conferences, webcasts, and focus groups. Her technical background spans more than 20 years and includes land use planning, nonprofit/government partnerships, community-based watershed management, conservation easement negotiation, clean energy initiatives, and technical editing.

Ms. Hamilton has a B.A. in Ecological Anthropology from Hampshire College and an M.S. in Natural Resources Planning from the University of Vermont.
