COP26: Supporting renewable energy across the globe with NASA data

This event will be a virtual showcase and live demonstration of the NASA Prediction of Worldwide Energy Resources (POWER) suite of tools. NASA POWER provides solar and meteorological data sets from NASA research for support of renewable energy, building energy efficiency and agricultural needs around the world.

By the end of this session, attendees will have:

  • Discovered the capabilities that NASA POWER provides to the global renewable energy community.
  • Become familiar with the datasets from NASA Earth Science missions that are provided via POWER’s web services suite.
  • Learned about online tools for acquiring renewable energy data from NASA POWER’s web services suite.
  • Explored use cases for NASA Earth Observations in energy management for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
