How to fund your climate, resilience, and energy programs
ICF has hosted a convening series in Los Angeles for the past two years to discuss California's funding landscape for climate, energy, resilience, and environmental programs, as well as opportunities for regional collaboration. During this time, a lot has changed. In 2024, agencies were inundated by federal funding to advance climate and environmental initiatives. A year ago, it was the opposite; agencies were facing funding reductions and a more uncertain landscape.
This year, the funding environment continues to shift with the evolution of Resilience Districts, the potential of Prop 4, the return of FEMA BRIC, and much more. This October, we’re organizing our 3rd Annual Funding Roundtable for leaders across Southern California. The event will include opening remarks by guest speakers, followed by a roundtable discussion with all attendees.
Discussion topics include:
- The overall funding landscape in California for climate, energy, resilience, and environmental initiatives.
- Climate Resilience Districts (CRDs) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF), including LA County’s ongoing efforts to develop a resilience district.
- The outlook for federal and state grants, and how to connect your agency to the right programs and tools to fund your initiatives.
- Input on a sustained initiative by ICF to launch a cohort of public agencies to assist with technical assistance, scoping and refining, and identifying funding for your agency’s projects.
This event is private, invite-only, and will operate under The Chatham House Rule to promote a candid and productive conversation.
