Bhawana has over 15 years of experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and protection in both development and humanitarian contexts.

Bhawana specializes in gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). She is an expert in GESI and Leaving No One Behind for the Sudridh-Nepal Urban Resilience Programme funded by the Department for International Development as part of its Nepal's Disaster Resilience Portfolio.

Bhawana has over 15 years of experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and protection in both development and humanitarian contexts. Bhawana conceptualizes, designs, and orchestrates advocacy campaigns and context-specific programs aimed at transformative changes in diverse settings. These workstreams have largely involved GESI mainstreaming and the development of GESI strategies, gender/protection action plans, GESI and protection training curriculum, women’s economic empowerment programs, evidence-based advocacy campaigns, and community engagement approaches.

Bhawana has worked for a variety of international non-profits, international development organizations, and the United Nations. She has developed good relationships with various organizations in these capacities, including bilateral, multilateral, government, and private stakeholders such as civil society organizations, women’s rights-based organizations, gender working groups, and clusters.
