Joost Groenenboom
Joost has more than 25 years of aviation industry experience, with expertise in airline operations, aircraft maintenance and MRO, aircraft asset management, and aviation regulation.
Joost is a senior director in ICF’s Aviation practice, working with clients on complex airline and MRO engagements worldwide. He brings extensive experience across the aviation industry, combining operational, technical, regulatory, and consulting perspectives. Throughout his career, he has advised airlines, MRO providers, aircraft owners, investors, and aviation authorities on complex challenges involving operational performance and transformation projects, MRO strategy and process improvement, aircraft and engine asset management, fleet transitions, and regulatory assessments.
Before returning to ICF in 2021, Joost served as Technical Director and Nominated Postholder for Continuing Airworthiness at Challenge Airlines. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at SGI Aviation and served as a director of 2-REG, the Guernsey aircraft registry. He began his aviation career with KLM Engine Services and subsequently spent nearly a decade with Martinair in maintenance planning and fleet management roles. Joost holds a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Haarlem University of Professional Education.
