In response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) created the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to lead work in prevention, preparation, and response to public health emergencies and disasters, ASPR turned to us as a development partner. The result of this partnership was ASPR TRACIE, an information gateway for easily accessible information and technical assistance about healthcare system preparedness, public health preparedness and disaster clinical medicine.
