TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

Golden, Colorado

Job Description:

ICF is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for the Innovation & Customer Engagement Group.  In this role, you will work with project managers, technical architects and clients to help define and organize business and technical requirements for our quantitative data processing and reporting platform.  This involves interviewing stakeholders to help refine requirements, keeping track of those requirements, and keeping product documentation and artifacts up to date.  The artifacts should be maintained including data mapping spreadsheets, a pragmatic approach to product feature documentation, and maintenance of configuration information for client implementations.  Candidates should be comfortable working on a software product development team following a scrum development methodology. Candidates should be highly independent and driven to follow-up on tasks without prompting.  Our software solution is quantitative and analytical so a desire and experience to work on complex subject material with a lot of detail is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead meetings with stakeholders and help prepare functional requirements documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
  • Generate requirement specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, user interface designs, and other system documentation into concise and specific language to facilitate stakeholder understanding
  • Support project delivery through task tracking and project management using project management tools
  • Work and assist QA team to develop and implement test cases and acceptance criteria for releases
  • Work with project managers to develop project plans and to track scope and changes throughout implementation, keeping stakeholders notified of anticipated completion dates
  • Support stakeholders through training, as well as one-on-one technical assistance
  • Develop an understanding of the operational processes and procedures and take initiative on process improvements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS in quantitative subject (math, engineering, science, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Solid experience with agile software development for software product development
  • Demonstrated project management experience using JIRA for issue tracking and JIRA administration abilities
  • Ability to clearly define and document business processes, and software requirements
  • Experience developing standard system documentation, tracking issues and working with developers to ensure that requirements are being met
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively in a team environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in MS Office products
  • Strong organizational skills and customer service focus a plus
  • Meeting facilitation skills a plus
