Senior Systems Engineer
ICF is currently seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to support a large federal IT system modernization program to improve the lives of children in foster care. You will work with our customer and program subject matter experts to understand the business goals and objectives of the system. The Senior Systems Engineer will support the operation and maintenance of CB data reporting systems. Travel may be expected on an as needed basis approximately 8 times a year averaging 5 days per trip. All travel will be within the United States and US Territories. Location: Washington, DC.
Conducting ongoing reviews and assessments of system functionality and performance
Proposing and implementing solutions (if required) to modify or enhance system functionality
Assisting in the transition of system components to new platforms as needed
Monitoring the respective systems for potential issues and troubleshoot problems external to the system that may interrupt some or all of the processing of incoming or outgoing files
Provides expert guidance to federal, state and tribal staffs on best practices for various system development and procurement approaches, such as waterfall and agile, to implement child welfare systems
Provides expert guidance to DSS on review and evaluation approaches to review projects, such as stage gate reviews, in waterfall or agile development environments
Maintaining documentation for federal reporting systems
Provide expert guidance where appropriate in written reports based on his/her analysis of State and Tribal information systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar IT degree
- US Citizenship required (required by federal government for this position).
5+ years of experience in reviewing large information systems
2+ years experience analyzing legacy systems (code, requirements, functional outputs) in order to develop baseline system requirements
2+ Years familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements
