Director for Commercial Climate Risk Analysis

ICF is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our commercial climate risk analysis and management work. The consultant will draw on their understanding of the needs of institutional investors and major corporations to further develop and refine ICF’s service and product offerings, to market ICF’s capabilities, and to establish external partnerships that extend ICF’s reach in this market segment. The consultant will draw on ICF’s 35 years of ground-breaking experience analyzing climate change risks and helping our clients effectively manage them.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Driving growth in our commercial climate risk analysis and management work
  • Developing and continually refining a strategy that capitalizes on ICF’s climate change advisory services strengths to capture new work in the rapidly expanding commercial climate risk market
  • Leveraging your extensive contacts in the marketplace while working with our internal marketing experts to drive growth in new business
  • Providing technical expertise, innovation, and leadership of the products and services developed and offered in this space
  • Leading project teams to advise commercial clients on high priority climate risk-related assignments
  • Developing partnerships with other climate risk analysis providers to enhance ICF’s service offerings and market reach

What you’ll need to have…

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • An extensive network of contacts with institutional investors and/or major corporations, particularly within the parts of those organizations focused on risk management and/or Environmental, Social, and Governance ESG
  • A solid understanding of physical and transition climate risks
  • Technical, budget, and team management experience for complex projects in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Ability to clearly communicate – both orally and in writing – complex information to non-experts, including corporate analysts and decision makers
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multi-task

 Preferred Skills/Experience…

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing strategy development
  • Demonstrated experience in physical and transition risk analysis
  • Ability to quantitatively analyze and interpret climate-related data for different sectors and applications
  • Demonstrated experience in ESG analysis and communication
