Here at ICF we’re looking for a Customer and User Research Analyst to develop and execute qualitative and quantitative research projects to support service design for clients looking to better serve their customers and users. Examples of research this role might conduct include surveys (online/print), one-on-one interviews, focus groups, voice of the customer analysis, usability testing, card sorts, audience segmentation, persona development, field studies, and competitor research.

Primary Responsibilities   

  • Work with clients and colleagues to develop research plans, recommending specific methodologies as appropriate
  • Design questionnaires, discussion guides and surveys for use in conducting research
  • Execute or facilitate research, including questionnaire/interview guide development and/or moderating/facilitating sessions
  • Analyze results/data and translate into clear and useful strategic and tactical insights to support clients and project teams

Basic Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience conducting customer research and social media research, including study design, moderating/facilitating, analysis, and requisite software/hardware tools 
  • Experience performing voice-of-the-customer activities and establishing VoC strategies. 
  • Experience with executing or facilitating research, analyzing results/data and translating into a clear and useful strategic insight to support clients and project teams. 
  • BA/BS degree required, Masters preferred. Quantitative or social sciences major(s) preferred 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Experience with effectively communicating ideas and findings through written reports and oral presentations with clients and team 
  • Ability to convey complex, technical subject matter in a clear and straightforward manner 
  • Ability to convey a professional and positive image 
  • Ability to objectively facilitate/moderate group discussions in professional and research settings 
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and tools (SAS, SPSS experience a plus) 
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, advanced knowledge/coursework a plus 
  • Experience with web analytics tools, customer experience tools (e.g. Qualtrics), and/or marketing research tools
