Applications Architect, DevOps
Location: Chicago, IL
What you’ll get to do:
Architecture: Our team designs, implements, and supports cloud-based infrastructure for complex enterprise applications. We are involved in the full systems lifecycle, including tasks that go beyond basic setup – including tuning, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting of system health issues. You will be involved in upfront solutions design for our clients and will provide oversight of the team’s delivery work to ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards
Global Operations: Our team provides 24x7x365 support for our clients and responds to client-initiated ticket requests on an ongoing basis. We also provide proactive security and patching services for our systems. You will work as part of our leadership team on process and efficiency improvements as we work to expand our operations to include resources from our offices in US, India & Canada.
Continuous Improvement: Continuous Improvement: Our team maintains a variety of platform technology, including application performance monitoring, automated cloud provisioning templates, and automated bootstrap and configuration management code. You will input on standards and collaborate with fellow team leaders on the prioritization and execution of ongoing platform improvement initiatives.
Face the Client: Driving operational excellence across multiple clients throughout the service lifecycle
Collaborate: Work closely with the Operations & Project Management to establish managed services models for clients and their delivery
Implementation:Champion creation and implementation of standards, policies, and change management best practices.
Mentorship: As a senior technical resource, you will guide technical staff in resolving technical architecture and design issues.

What you’ll need to succeed:
10+ years of progressive experience in information technology positions focusing on software engineering and architecture
Experience with complex web application environments, including enterprise Java application servers, Adobe AEM web content management system (WCMS) , and eCommerce platforms
Experience in customer facing technology-related service delivery
Experience building fault tolerant and high availability systems
Ability to gather data, analyze, formulate actions and solutions, compile information and report to all levels of management;
Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Ruby, Python or other modern scripting languages
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, New Relic, Sensu)
Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management
Proven ability to translate client goals into achievable technical specifications
Proven ability to engage internal and external audiences through charismatic presentation
Ability to work within various internal groups to drive technology change
Ability & willingness to assist off-hours support teams with escalations of critical support issues and troubleshooting
