Awards Recognize ICF for business growth in Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience and Salmon and Steelhead habitat modeling

ICF (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of professional services and technology-based solutions to government and commercial clients, received two awards from Environmental Business International, the publishers of Climate Change Business Journal® (CCBJ) and Environmental Business Journal® (EBJ), for 2015. Specifically, ICF won a CCBJ Business Achievement Award in the Growth category for Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience, and an EBJ Technology Merit Award for Information Technology.

ICF was recognized by CCBJ for its expanding work with government, nonprofit, and commercial entities in understanding and interpreting climate science, assessing vulnerabilities, managing risks, and communicating findings. Taking into account new projects in 2015, ICF has worked for more than a dozen federal agencies in the past two years, as well as numerous state and local agencies on climate adaptation. ICF has helped to shape the state-of-the-art in conducting climate and weather risk assessments and operationalizing recommendations for reducing the impacts of climate.

"ICF is honored to receive the CCBJ award, recognizing the progress we have made translating climate research into heightened awareness and practical measures to reduce risks and improve livelihoods," said Anne Choate, senior vice president for ICF International. "Our exposure to pressure points within major economic sectors and within organizations has enabled us to mainstream climate and extreme weather risk management into strategic planning, design, asset management, operations, and more effective disaster response."

ICF’s EBJ award was for the deployment of its Ecosystem Diagnosis & Treatment (EDT) model in monitoring salmon and steelhead recovery on tribal lands in northern Washington. The EDT model was dovetailed with existing IT to create a system that delivers useful habitat performance metrics.

"Our team is honored to receive this award for our work helping to revitalize salmon and steelhead populations," said David Freytag, senior vice president for ICF International. "Our ability to analyze effective use cases of our partners’ existing technologies and provide the right supplemental tools has been instrumental in partners achieving their goals with minimal inconvenience."

The CCBJ’s Business Achievement Awards program recognizes companies for their contribution to addressing climate change in 2015, and it is the fifth year in a row ICF has been recognized for this award. The EBJ Business Achievement Awards recognize contributions to wider environmental stewardship.

The 2015 CCBJ and EBJ awards were presented at a special ceremony at the Environmental Industry Summit XIV, an annual executive networking and educational event at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego on March 9, 2016.
