Janet Weisenford


Janet Weisenford has more than 25 years of experience at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), where she held executive leadership positions as executive director of the U.S. Navy’s Human Performance Center and director of the Joint Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory. She is on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Simulation and was recently recognized as a leader in the Central Florida Modeling and Simulation community. While in the U.S. Navy, she interfaced with senior leadership throughout DoD, Federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), as well as members of Congress and White House staff.

Ms. Weisenford has worked with State and local governments, along with industry and academia, to foster partnerships and share simulation and training technology. She has initiated and managed more than 20 learning technology research and development projects, in such areas intelligent tutoring, distributed simulation, gaming, and e-learning. Ms. Weisenford has firsthand knowledge of Government operations at all levels, from local governments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She is a proven innovator who knows how to implement change successfully.
