Michelle Thomas

Project Manager

Michelle Thomas has more than 15 years of experience in the health and human services fields. She has led and managed projects in various family and child systems, including early childhood education, federal and state governments, military child care, child welfare, and mental health. For the state of Indiana, Ms. Thomas developed the strategic mission, goals, and implementation plan for a new, statewide child care quality rating and improvement system (QRIS). She planned and implemented strategies that aligned resources, streamlined business infrastructure, enhanced data systems; she also developed system evaluation measures to ensure that the system goals of the QRIS were successfully achieved and sustained.

Ms. Thomas specializes in managing large scope-of-work projects with multiple staff, funding streams, and partners. She has vast implementation experience, having initiated projects from inception and taken them through program design, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.

Ms. Thomas has a master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University and two bachelor’s degrees: one in Social Work from Indiana University and one in Consumer and Family Sciences from Purdue University.
