Renato Roldao has over ten years of working experience in the fields of climate change, energy and environment. He is an industry respected and recognized expert in carbon markets and climate change mitigation issues. Currently, he is also Chair of the Business Advisory Council of Portuguese Embassy in Beijing, Portugal's National Representative in the Supervisory Board of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), Advisor to China Carbon Forum (CCF) and Member of the Technical Commission Benchmarking Brazil 2013.
Mr. Roldao’s experience includes work as Senior Expert of the Europaid Project "Greenhouse Gas Emissions' Trading System Outreach to Developing Countries", Special Adviser to Low Carbon Economy File of EU-China Trade Project (EUCTP II), Short-Term Consultant (STC) for the elaboration of the National Climate Change Strategy of Mozambique (leading the technical work related with the mitigation and low carbon economy component of the strategy where NMMs such as NAMAs or Standardized baselines were considered as options for the horizon 2013-2025), Climate Change Specialist at AECOM China Sustainability Center, and former Chief Representative Officer (CRO) of Ecoprogresso in Beijing. As the Senior advisor of Luso Carbon Fund (LCF), his experience includes managing a portfolio of over 12 CDM projects in China, India, Thailand corresponding to expected emission reductions and ensuring their successful registration, namely on WHR in Cement Plants, small hydro, MSW (both Waste Incineration and Anaerobic digestion Waste to Energy projects), Biogas recovery and utilization from wastewater treatment in industrial plants, LNG Projects, Transportation (BRT), CHP Projects.
