Matt is an economist with more than 25 years of experience in policy appraisal and evaluation. He has expertise in biodiversity, ecosystems, environmental policy, rural development, and economic appraisal. He leads ICF's environmental policy work in the UK and Europe.
Matt has led numerous assignments for the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the UK. He has led a number of studies to inform UK biodiversity policy, examined the links between local food and tourism in England, and the drivers of innovation in rural areas. In addition, he has contributed to evaluations of the International Climate Fund (for DFID) and the Child Poverty Innovation Pilot (for the Child Poverty Unit). Matt has led many economic impact studies for government, regional development agencies and local authorities.
