Matt Rayment is an economist with 25 years of experience in policy appraisal and evaluation.He has expertise inbiodiversity, ecosystems, environmental policy, rural development, and economic appraisal.
Mr. Rayment's recent assignments include a review of the monitoring and reporting obligations arising from EU environmental legislation, and an evaluation to support the Fitness Check of the European Nature Directives, both for the European Commission, DG Environment. He has undertaken numerous assessments of the costs, benefits and financing of national, EU and global targets for nature and biodiversity. He has led or contributed to numerous evaluations of economic development, rural, environmental and social programs for the UK Government and European Commission.
Previously, Mr. Rayment was Head of Economics at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, where he managed many projects related to the economics of biodiversity.
