Dr. Susan Pietrzyk

Senior Technical Specialist

Susan Pietrzyk is the qualitative study specialist for the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Food for Peace (FFP) baseline studies in Burundi, Madagascar, Malawi, Nepal, Haiti, and Zimbabwe. She is responsible for designing, managing, conducting, and supervising the qualitative study; analyzing and interpreting quantitative results for use in the qualitative study; and integrating qualitative findings with survey data.

Dr. Pietrzyk has more than 15 years of experience in international development research, evaluation, and project implementation, and her work includes food assistance and food security, maternal and child health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, and gender. Her methodological expertise centers on community-centered data collection and mixed-methods approaches. She also serves as the project director for ICF's work with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to oversee five impact evaluations. For the FFP baseline studies in Haiti and Zimbabwe, she coordinated and conducted data coding in ATLAS.ti, and she coauthored the final report for Haiti.

Dr. Pietrzyk has a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Binghamton University.
