Dr. Greg Michaels

Greg Michaels is an industry expert in climate change with technical areas of expertise in climate, land use, agriculture, and water. He has more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sector as an economist and development consultant conducting and directing analyses and evaluations of the environment, climate change, natural resources, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and food and malnutrition in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Prior to joining ICF, Dr. Michaels worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he led an effort to develop environmental accounting to examine the economics of environmental protection and climate change. He also served as a longtime consultant to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in senior-level positions at Development and Training Services (dTS), Chemonics International, PA Government Services, and Abt Associates. He has managed more than 60 consulting projects for USAID, the World Bank, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), EPA, and national governments.

Dr. Michaels has a Ph.D in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
