Emma Lewis is an urban and regional planner specialising in green and sustainable urban development. She has been a consultant planner and advisor to governments in Australia, Asia, Africa, and the UK. She has given strategic advice on planning policy, development control, and enforcement and has facilitated the engagement of communities through consultation initiatives. Ms. Lewis has prepared urban development projects for financing and worked on spatial planning strategies, including strategic planning policy and residential, industrial, and commercial land supply studies.
Ms. Lewis is an urban planner and project manager on a number of donor-funded assignments combining climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, flood risk management, and integrated land use planning. She has contributed to several publications, including Cities and Flooding: A Guide to Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management for the 21st Century.
Ms. Lewis has a B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of South Australia and is member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
