Shelly Heath-Watson


Shelly Heath-Watson has more than 18 years of public health and program management experience. She has extensive national-, state-, and community-level experience in health promotion and disease prevention campaigns, multicultural programming and communications, strategic alliance cultivation, leadership and volunteer development, executive coaching, and training. She has directed program, material, and message development, social marketing activities, qualitative research, and public health education efforts for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes for Health (NIH).

Ms. Heath-Watson works with various target audiences, including health professionals, lay health workers, national organizations and community leaders, people with disabilities, older adults, and children. Her work includes outreach to diverse populations, including African Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Hispanic/Latinos. Her career spans the academic, nonprofit, public, and corporate sectors, and she is project director for the multiyear, multimillion-dollar National Eye Institute, National Eye Health Education Program contract.

Ms. Heath-Watson has a master’s degree in Social Psychology from American University.
