Deepak Gopalakrishna

Deepak is a transportation expert with more than 20 years of experience helping state and local agencies develop and integrate emerging mobility and safety technology into their day-to-day operations.

Deepak is an expert in transportation and mobility with over 20 years of progressive experience and leadership of transportation operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) research and deployments. He leads a team focused on advancing transportation technology adoption in the United States. Deepak manages a multi-million dollar portfolio of projects that revolve around integrating intelligent transportation systems for state and local agencies to improve traveler safety, mobility of travelers, and freight-movement efficiency.

Deepak leads large, geographically distributed teams and ensures high-quality project delivery, especially those that involve emerging technologies for complex and high-risk public sector projects. He is a skilled facilitator and leads stakeholder engagement with cutting-edge ITS projects around the country, including projects dealing with integrated corridor management, connected vehicle deployment, automated driving systems integration, mobility services, and transportation systems management and operations.

Deepak holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Birla Institute of Science and Technology and a master’s in civil engineering from the Ohio State University.
