Teresa Duncan

Dr. Teresa Duncan

Senior Fellow

Teresa Duncan specializes in evaluation of educational interventions and programs. Her expertise is in experimental and quasi-experimental methodologies, survey development, and applied educational and psychological measurement. She is currently director of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Educational Laboratory (REL-MA), and her recent projects include examining states' policies on compulsory school attendance, assessing rural students' cognitive and affective engagement, analyzing effects of a principal coaching program, and serving on several National Science Foundation (NSF) grants as the external evaluator.

Dr. Duncan is the author or co-author of articles in journals such as Educational and Psychological Measurement, Applied Measurement in Education, and Educational Psychologist. She has also served as the deputy project director of the U.S. Department of Education's What Works Clearinghouse.
