Pamela Day

Senior Project Manager

Pamela Day has more than 35 years of experience in the child welfare field. Her writing, training, and consultation focus is on improving child welfare programs and practice through family-centered, strengths-based approaches. Ms. Day is co-director of Child Welfare Information Gateway (CWIG), the clearinghouse service of the Children’s Bureau, where she directs the development of web and print products and information services and addresses a range of child welfare program and practice issues, including family support and preservation, child abuse and neglect, family foster care, kinship care, adoption, and residential group care. Ms. Day also serves as a senior project consultant with the National Resource Center (NRC) for In-Home Services.

Previously, Ms. Day served as director of child welfare services and standards at the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA); co-director of the National Resource Institute for Children with Handicaps; and director of the Northwest Resource Center (NWRC) for Children, Youth, and Families at the University of Washington.

Ms. Day has a B.A. in Social Science from the University of Oregon and an M.S.W. from the University of Washington.
