Tom Callahan

Tom Callahan is a competition and economic development economist with expertise in the strategic planning and economic and financial analysis of major development projects, infrastructure investments, and competition economics reviews. His reports and analyses have helped shape and justify investments and economic policy interventions for governments, multilaterial and nongovernmental organisations, independent authorities, and private sector clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Asia.

Mr. Callahan's experience includes analysis of many of Hong Kong's and Asia's most strategic assets and development projects, including new tourism, transport infrastructure, environmental amenities, and large-scale area-based developments. He recently led two market studies for the Competition Commission of Singapore, oversaw development of a cruise tourism strategy for Malaysia, and advised on port infrastructure in Indonesia and highway development in Vietnam. His experience in strategic planning and economic assessment was recently recognised through his appointment to represent the Business Environment Council on Hong Kong's Harbourfront Commission.

Mr. Callahan has an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University and an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics.
