Dr. Robyn Blain

Technical Specialist

Robyn Blain has used her toxicology expertise to support human health risk assessment by preparing several integrated risk information system (IRIS) toxicological reviews and provisional peer-reviewed toxicity value documents for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Dr. Blain was involved in writing and reviewing health effect background documents for the EPA as part of the Contaminant Candidate List 3 (CCL3) process to identify data gaps for the contaminants. She was involved in reviewing and summarizing studies for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and in developing robust study summaries in International Uniform ChemicaL Information Database (IUCLID) 5. Dr. Blain has supported the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in reviewing toxicological studies on food contact substances (additives), color additives, and generally-recognized-as-safe (GRAS) petitions.

Prior to joining ICF, Dr. Blain was involved in the production and maintenance of two relational retrieval databases (single exposure carcinogenicity and hormesis).

Dr. Blain has a Ph.D. in Environmental Health Sciences and an M.S. in Public Health, both with a concentration on Toxicology.
