Continuing Challenges in Transportation Adaptation

Where knowledge gaps persist, ICF is at the forefront of closing those gaps—with consultants gathering best-in-class expertise to develop solutions that have real impact. This article addresses some of these gaps, identifying and examining significant shortcomings in assessing the impact of climate change on transportation planning, design, and operations.

The article also explores research opportunities to address societal impact, better define critical concepts and make them useful for practitioners, and integrate climate concerns more completely in natural and built environments across all sectors, including transportation.

This holistic approach to research and assessment is not just a nice-to-have. It’s at the heart of how ICF is making research-based solutions possible—and helping our clients have a sustainable impact on their communities and the world.
