ICF provides in-depth, multidisciplinary services to support environmental reviews under NEPA and related requirements.

Through our work with numerous U.S. federal agencies, corporations, law firms, and communities for more than 30 years, ICF has developed thought leadership and deep subject matter expertise to anticipate client needs in environmental assessment, formulating timely, workable answers and solutions.

We deploy integrated services to execute environmental impact assessment for complex projects involving diverse stakeholders and multiple layers of regulation. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Efficient process management and documentation to ensure compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and state regulations such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA)
  • Integration of other U.S. regulations, including Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA), and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
  • Use of ICF’s web-based public comment analysis software, CommentWorks®, to accurately and comprehensively capture public comment in regulatory compliance

ICF develops process management strategies by asking: What impact will existing and emerging policies, guidance, regulations, and market and industry trends have on your environmental review process?

ICF finds the answer in four ways by:

  • Staying connected in Washington, D.C.
  • Tracking regional, state, and local regulations
  • Monitoring court decisions
  • Analyzing markets and industries

The resulting insights combined with our high-level and on-the-ground experience enable us to develop and manage complex environmental reviews.
