In this Energy and Environment Breakfast, ICF International welcomes a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) commissioner who will discuss FERC's agenda—one of the key fulcrums of the energy universe today. FERC's agenda encompasses:

  • Order 1000 implementation, including regional transmission planning, transmission solicitations, cost allocation, and seams issues
  • Proposed mergers and acquisitions
  • Transmission incentives policy
  • North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability regulations (cyber and physical), particularly in light of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) rules that could impact reliability
  • Gas pipeline certification in an era of great shale gas production expansion
  • Liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal approval
  • Hydro relicensing
  • Rate cases galore

As a result, most of the largest energy companies in the country have a major stake in how FERC rules on these and other policy and project decisions.
