Lauren Reef
Senior Disaster Management Specialist, Data and Analytics
Puerto Rico
Lauren is an expert in disaster management data and analytics with more than 3 years of experience.

Lauren leads data and analytics support for the CDBG-DR funded PRDOH R3 project, creating and updating daily, weekly, and ad-hoc reports that drive decision making. She tailors report content and format to different stakeholders’ information needs and preferences, ensuring that reports are easily understandable and actionable. In addition, she works closely with our Disastrax experts to create tracking and forecasting tools for project use.

Lauren has been instrumental in developing two mitigation needs assessments for CDBG-MIT action plans, where she summarized historical disaster event data to inform the selection of mitigation priorities. She also conducted a spatial analysis of past disaster impacts with CDC social vulnerability metrics to identify intersections between social vulnerability and future disaster risk.

Before joining our disaster management team, Lauren worked on our public health team, supporting the CDC and other public and private sector clients. She has a strong background in monitoring, evaluating, and researching for disaster management clients. She is also a returned Peace Corps volunteer, having served in Paraguay from 2011 to 2014.
