Lauren Pederson has 11 years of experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory development and climate change outreach at the international, national, state, regional, and local levels. She manages support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) State and Local Climate and Energy Program, with support to the branch including developing public-facing communications materials in print and online; supporting the Climate Showcase Communities program; and tracking state feedback and training with regard to EPA's 111(d) program to limit emissions from existing power plants.

Under the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Low Emissions Asian Development (LEAD) program and other international capacity-building projects, Ms. Pederson works directly with government representatives in Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal, and Colombia to improve their national communications to the United Nations (UN) and to build capacity within their organizations to sustain these activities for future reporting to the UN.

Ms. Pederson has an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University.
