Dr. Isabela Ribeiro Lucas joined ICF in 2010 and has more than 20 years of experience in prevention and control of obesity and chronic diseases, promotion of healthy eating, physical activity, and healthy built environments. Previously, Dr. Lucas served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and taught nutrition to graduate students at the Pontiff University of Parana in Brazil.
At ICF, Dr. Lucas served as project director, team lead, and team member for several projects funded by the U.S. federal government and national foundations. Her experience includes systematic reviews, process and outcome evaluations, mixed-methods approaches for data collection, analysis and reporting, as well as provision of technical assistance to local and State, grantees.
Dr. Lucas has a master and a PhD degrees in Nutrition Epidemiology from the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, with concentration in youth obesity in Latin America.
