Thibaud’s core experience is in climate strategy & policy for financial institutions and public organizations. He has an excellent track record in consulting at international level.
Thibaud currently supports EU and EU development finance institutions in development and implementation of sustainable finance tools and frameworks to support the transition towards the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement (e.g. EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities, Common Principles for Mitigation Finance Tracking, Paris-alignment strategy for DFIs, support in implementation of EU Innovation Fund).
Thibaud has also supported governments and not-for-profit organizations in development of long-term trajectories and strategies for GHG emissions reduction in all sectors. He developed models to assess the evolution of GHG emissions at country or sectoral level under different scenarios (including the impact of specific abatement measures) and identify what are the needs to meet Paris’ agreement goal of “well below 2 degrees” temperature increase. He also developed strategy and policy recommendations to support the global decarbonization, also based on his previous involvement in the international climate policy assessment initiative called "Climate Action Tracker”.
Prior to joining ICF, Thibaud worked for 10 years+ in consulting and finance at international level (New-Delhi, London, Brussels). He worked on projects ranging from sustainability and GHG reporting verification to the definition of regional and sector specific GHG emissions reduction strategies. Thibaud is fluent in French and English with advanced knowledge of Dutch and basic knowledge of Spanish.
