Alexa La Plante
Water Quality Specialist

Alexa La Plante specializes in hydrological and water quality impact analysis, developing and implementing water quality monitoring efforts, and assisting clients in water quality regulatory compliance. She teaches a class on water quality permitting and regulations at the University of California Extension.

Ms. La Plante has worked as a water resources engineer at MWH, where she led agency coordination to help municipal clients maintain compliance with water quality permitting requirements; prepared 401 certifications, 404 permits, and Streambed Alteration Agreements for several local fish screen projects; and assisted clients in complying with waste discharge requirements. She also worked at the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board (SFRWQCB), where she co-managed the industrial and construction storm water programs and managed individual National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits for wastewater treatment plants and power plants in the San Francisco Bay region.

Ms. La Plante has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
