Ravi has over two decades of experience developing and implementing policies and programs that support the transition to a low carbon economy. He is responsible for developing low carbon growth and investment strategies, designing climate and energy policies, and program management. He also provides technical assistance to national governments, regulatory bodies, and the private sector in the Middle East, Central and South Asia, North America, and Europe.
Ravi oversees the £12 million Green Recovery Challenge Fund for the UK Government, which provides technical assistance grants to support low-carbon transitions in official development assistance-eligible countries. He is a senior expert for the UK Government on product policy, giving support to the UK’s Energy Using Products Programme and Energy Technology List.
Ravi has supported the development and assessment of policy solutions for energy efficiency, climate funds, market-based mechanisms, eco-innovation, and biofuels for the European Commission. He has supported the development of the European Commission’s climate-neutral 2050 strategy through the assessment of pathways for the decarbonization of the industrial sector. Ravi led studies to assess the impacts of extending the EU Emissions Trading Scheme to include road transport and buildings, and the current mitigation efforts and future actions required to meet Paris Agreement targets for eight Southern Mediterranean countries. He also managed a program that provided technical assistance to the European Member States to develop their integrated national energy and climate plans as part of the Energy Union governance.
Ravi brings in-depth knowledge and experience of sustainable business solutions. He has supported organizations in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, metals, utilities, and retail sectors in developing sustainability strategies, roadmaps, and mitigation actions to transition their business models and operations to a low carbon economy.
