Greg Hopper is an expert in natural gas wholesale market matters with emphasis on midstream assets, including pipeline, storage, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and peakshaving systems. He advises clients on regulated and unregulated issues relating to fuel portfolio development, contract structuring and negotiations, asset valuation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financing studies, market analyses, price forecasting, regulatory compliance, and strategy development.
Previously, Mr. Hopper was managing director of Black & Veatch Management Consulting where he led the firm's natural gas and power fuels practice. He was also a founding partner and vice president of Lukens Energy Group, an energy consulting partnership that became part of Black & Veatch in 2005. Mr. Hopper began his energy career in investment banking before joining Williams Gas Pipelines where he led and managed investments in natural gas midstream assets and the strategic and financial evaluation of acquisitions and joint ventures to leverage the company's entry into new markets.
Mr. Hopper has an M.B.A. in Finance from Rice University and a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas. He is a C.P.A. in the state of Texas, and he is a frequent speaker and author on energy issues.
