Ankit has more than 10 years of experience assisting commercial clients, assessing business plans and infrastructure needs for the gas sector. He leads discussions on policy intervention and regulatory framework to enable greater penetration of natural gas as a cleaner fuel in the energy mix.
Ankit is an expert in forecasting natural gas demand, establishing a business case for gas and liquified natural gas (LNG) import infrastructure, floating storage and regasification units, city gas distribution, LNG shipping, and small-scale LNG projects. He also has deep expertise in factors that unlock potential demand for natural gas in new sectors, such as using LNG as a transportation fuel in heavy-duty vehicles. He has led and provided expert support on complex projects related to authorization of licenses, national gas grid development, and processes to create indigenous capabilities of a gas infrastructure project. He has worked with a mix of clients, including the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board, World Bank, the United States Trade and Development Agency, and commercial and public sector clients.
Ankit started his career with GAIL (India) Limited, India’s largest national gas company, and served there for more than seven years. He has also worked for an association of oil and gas entities, such as the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry in the hydrocarbon sector. He has carried out multiple stakeholders’ engagements on different projects.
