Dr. Anna Engstrom (P-2) has 5 years of relevant experience in the fields of toxicology, environmental health, risk assessment, and neuroscience. Before joining ICF in May, Dr. Engstrom conducted research in neurotoxicology, studying how gene-environment interactions may impair learning and memory and contribute to neurodegenerative diseases, using both in vitro and in vivo model systems. Dr. Engstrom has significant technical writing and scientific communication experience, including writing peer-reviewed scientific papers, presenting at national conferences, preparing technical documents for the American College of Medical Toxicology, and synthesizing toxicological and epidemiological evidence for several noncancer health effects for the EPA’s IRIS assessment of inorganic arsenic. Dr. Engstrom has a Ph.D. In Environmental Toxicology from the University of Washington.
