Robin Bloch
Technical Director - Urban Planning

Robin is an urban planner with over 20 years of experience and his principal areas of expertise include urban and regional economic development, urban and metropolitan spatial and land use planning, and urban environmental management and sustainability. Robin brings strong research capabilities, and his work has incorporated the full spectrum of the project cycle, from project identification and formulation through implementation, quality assurance and the monitoring and evaluation of individual projects for a range of clients, including the World Bank, DFID, USAID, the European Commission and Cities Alliance.

Much of Robin’s recent project experience concentrates in urban spatial development. He has conducted numerous research assignments analyzing how socio-economic dynamics participate in urban expansion trends, and contribute to the rise of specific urban spatial configurations. Robin has also led recent projects assisting local governments in the formulation of urban plans, and the development of national human settlements and spatial development strategy. The mainstreaming of disaster resilience principles into urban management and planning.

Robin has acted as Team Leader and Project Director in complex multi-stakeholder urban spatial and economic development assignments.
