Eric W. Beshers has more than 40 years of experience in transportation economics and policy. He had a distinguished federal career on the permanent staff of the policy group in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation. Over his 19-year posting in the U.S. Department of Transportation, Mr. Beshers had significant involvement in every piece of legislation developed by the DOT in this period regarding highway and airport finance and received several medals and awards for his work on major pieces of legislation concerning railways, waterways, highways, mass transit, and aviation.
As a consultant since 1986, he has continued working in a wide variety of areas. In the last ten years or so, most of his work has been on freight issues and the rail and trucking industries. He is a recognized authority on both industries and has useful contacts in both industries and has carried out international projects in China, Russia, India, and Bolivia.
