Shane Beadle leads research and evaluation on education, skills and training policies and their implementation. He works for several entities, including the European Commission (EC); UK government departments such as energy and climate, education, business innovation and skills (BIS); UK government bodies such as Ofqual and the UK Commission for Employment and Skills; the Welsh Government; and occupational sector bodies such as the Construction Industry Training Board.
Dr. Beadle joined ICF in 2006 after a career in the public sector specializing in operational review and project management. Recently, he has led various projects, including an evaluation of enterprise training programs for BIS; a comparative analysis of language learning in Europe and an assessment of employers’ needs for foreign language skills across the EU; evaluations of European Social Fund (ESF) programs to engage young people in further education and training and to increase employer investment in skills training; an assessment of the regulatory impact of new examinations for young people; and literature reviews of the impact of teachers working longer and of the impact of digital learning on school age children’s attainment.
Dr. Beadle has a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool and an M.A. and a B.A. from the University of Cambridge.
