Wildfire Mitigation Lead – Utility Sector
ICF's Disaster Management division seeks a Wildfire Mitigation Lead – Utility Sector who will lead Hazard Mitigation planning and projects in the Pacific Northwest following the recent wildfire and straight-line wind events. The successful candidate will be charged with the flawless development and execution of a wildfire mitigation plan, anticipating and meeting client’s needs and strategically positioning the company’s resources and expertise to grow the business. The Subject Matter Expert will work with ICF senior and junior staff and subcontractors to support critical infrastructure clients across the Pacific Northwest.
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a track record of superior execution and growth and will be responsible for ensuring that programs are positioned to optimize disaster grant resource allocation, build strong solutions to impacted areas, and provide strong risk management. Work remote from Oregon, Washington or California is strongly preferred. 25% travel expected.
Develop mitigation solutions for all wildfire related issues with a specific focus on critical infrastructure.
Draft wildfire mitigation plans for multiple critical infrastructure clients.
Serve as the direct interface with client staff, state/local government agencies, as well as senior program staff.
Implement on-going public education and outreach programs. Meet with homeowners, federal, state, and local stakeholders to coordinate and increase awareness of wildfire hazards and mitigation methods.
Coordinate the Applicant’s mitigation priorities and identify grant funding opportunities.
Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable program policies, requirements, procedures, guidelines; and shall possess knowledge of regulatory and statutory compliance requirements for FEMA and similar programs/projects.
8+ years experience in analyzing and/or applying fire management strategies, including wildfire mitigation plans
Experience in the critical infrastructure market, specifically the utility sector
Familiarity with FEMA regulations, emergency planning, and mitigation planning
Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional teams to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant, quality work products.
Willingness to work in and travel across the Pacific Northwest as necessary
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, and integrity and ethics
Team player with the demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, motivate teaming partners/staff to ensure high levels of engagement, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management Software)
