Transportation Electrification Consultant

Transportation Electrification ConsultantPreferred Location: Flexible/Remote, preference for Eastern US

From light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles to buildings and industrial equipment, stakeholders are evaluating their options to electrify and reduce emissions. ICF helps electric utilities, government entities, and industry stakeholders evaluate these opportunities and deliver financial and decarbonization benefits.  

To support the growing transportation electrification market, we are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Transportation Electrification Consultant to support utility program planning, design, and implementation. As a Transportation Electrification Consultant, you will contribute to the strategic planning for and design of utility offerings that seek to support the adoption of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. You will conduct research, benchmarking, and analysis; develop informed recommendations and evidence-based justification; and manage deliverable review and ongoing coordination with utility client teams. You will also contribute to other transportation electrification program implementation, mentor team members, support business development, thought leadership, and build subject matter expertise.

 What you will be doing: 

  • Assist with developing innovative electrification program strategies, designs, and implementation plans to support utility regulatory filings and government funding initiatives 
  • Collaborating with program team members and cross functional teams to support electrification program development and delivery
  • Supporting strategic electrification investment decisions by researching and analyzing market trends and benchmarking best practices including those related to electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, load management, fleets, technologies, and more 
  • Managing project tasks using project workplans, tracking team deliverables, and reporting on progress
  • Creating and maintaining work products that include Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint decks, and other work products 
  • Conducting desktop review quality assurance/quality control of internal and external materials 
  • Conducting outreach to and communicating with transportation electrification customers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining transportation and energy industry knowledge of energy products and services and contributing to subject matter expertise 
  • Participating in industry events to promote transportation electrification 
  • Other duties as required to support our work nationally and provide direct support to internal leadership as needed

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Engineering, Science, Policy or related disciplines with 5+ years experience within utility, energy and/or transportation industries OR
  • 9+ years experience within utility, energy and/or transportation industries

 What we would like you to have: 

  • Work experience in relevant fields such as energy consulting, transportation, electrification, automotive, electric utilities, clean transportation or related fields 
  • Comfort working with datasets for analysis, tracking, and reporting purposes and proficiency in or a willingness to learn data analysis and visualization tools
  • Project management experience with multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experience with research and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience facilitating efficient and effective meetings

Professional skills you will use:

  • The ability to understand the bigger picture goals of a project and then break down the work into logical and manageable steps
  • Excellent communication skills, including to be able to synthesize detailed and complex information, identify salient points, and explain it using data and clear language in multiple formats (email, written memos or reports, slides, oral presentations, data visualization tools, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented; an ability to apply appropriate quality controls and to design and follow processes that eliminate errors in one’s own work and others’
  • Ability to prioritize, balance multiple tasks, anticipate and mitigate barriers, and deliver work products under strict deadlines  
  • Organizes work products in a manner that is clear, easy to follow, and tailored for the intended audience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute as a team player

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$68,325.00 - $116,152.00
