Technical Trainer- Environmental Science (Remediation)
ICF is looking for an excited professional who wants to apply their understanding of environmental regulations and remediation to training development! This position is based in Fairfax, VA and will require travel of up to 50% to support on-site training courses. Travel is anticipated to begin in Fall 2022.
ICF is looking for an Environmental Science - Training Developer to join our Environmental & Regulatory Implementation Services (ERIS) Team. If successful, you will support EPA contracts with the Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI), Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization (OBLR), and Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery (ORCR). You will be responsible for managing course development, working with EPA course development teams, operational oversight, and on-site facilitation services for the programs' associated training activities.
This is an excellent mid-level opportunity that will allow you to apply your past work experience/knowledge to a wide range of training and technical projects. It will provide the opportunity to apply your knowledge to government consulting as well as environmental regulatory and implementation work. Finally, you will collaborate closely with other team members and with both internal and external clients.

What you’ll do:
Provide a wide range of support for managing the development and facilitation of classroom, virtual, and hybrid technical training courses.
Manage course content development, including logistics, IT trouble shooting, on-site training delivery support, and course evaluation preparation.
Provide technical knowledge of remediation to support and manage a broad range of technical projects for EPA.
Provide general support for the preparation of a wide range of client work products across our EPA contracts.
What you need:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related environmental science (geology, hydrogeology, geosciences), environmental engineering, or biology. Master's degree preferred.
Bachelors with 6+ years or master’s with 4+ years of experience supporting technically oriented projects in the environmental area.
Knowledge of EPA cleanup programs (e.g., Superfund, RCRA, Brownfields) a plus.
Professional skills and experience were looking for:
Highly organized team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Ability to independently manage discrete course development tasks and work closely with EPA clients in course development.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Interest in developing skills to provide on-site support for training deliveries and willingness to travel.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
