Strategist, Stakeholder Experience

As a Digital Strategist at ICF Next, you will use your abilities in problem solving, stakeholder elicitation, business research and user insights gathering to successfully deliver and/or support strategic direction towards building world class experiences. Reporting to the Director, Stakeholder Experience, the Digital Strategist will be asked to solve complex challenges by connecting the dots between customer, employee and ecosystem experience throughout various client engagements at ICF Next.

Key to delivering successful strategies will be developing trusted relationships with our clients as well as working alongside other ICF Next members from teams like Experience Design, Analytics, Technology, Creative and Client Services. To succeed at this role, you are:

  • A visionary , with the intuition to build/support strategies that create stellar experiences for customers and employees and the technical proficiency to validate them.
  • A storyteller, who can build a narrative connecting the problem, the solution and the gaps in between
  • An artist and technologist , equally excited in developing brand strategy with creative teams or digital platform transformations with technology teams.
  • A pragmatic thinker, that wants a whiteboard marker or post-its in arms reach at all times, drawing out problems and solutions on a moment’s notice.
  • An analytical thinker, with the desire to hypothesize, experiment and collect data on every experience with the utmost precision.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day…

  • Definition : Support building the blueprint to deliver impactful and insightful strategies and experiences
  • Ideation: Conducting solution sessions internally with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Client Workshops: Develop, facilitate or support customized client workshops, virtually or in-person, to identify opportunities towards problem solution and strategy development
  • Research: Conducting primary and secondary research, developing key insights relevant to the client’s industry or initiative.
  • Data Insights Reports: Using data analytics to produce key customer insights reports, understanding how to weave data points into a cohesive customer-driven story. You are comfortable with numbers and eager to uncover insights in the data.
  • Strategic Framework: Using the outputs from workshops and other research to craft high fidelity strategic frameworks. This document can take an infinite variety of forms, with the ultimate perspective of constructing a compelling story.
  • User Stories: Condensing the Strategic Framework into a concise set of tasks and requirements, working with business analysts to define requirements
  • Innovation: As a champion of experiences across the spectrum, you will activate and bring ideas to your team and our clients. Empowered by new technology platforms or unique insights, you will champion and articulate the value of innovative new ideas.

Your Experience & Intangible Traits:

The ideal candidate for the Digital Strategist position will possess the following competencies:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital strategy, insight building, research and data analytics.
  • Previous work in developing digital experiences with knowledge in leveraging either open source or enterprise technology to bring these strategies to life
  • Strong recent examples of strategic framework creation and client work
  • Skilled in identifying organization goals, understanding organizational process and creating solutions within the framework of client needs
  • Ability to craft a story that can command a room, effectively present ideas to senior client stakeholders
  • Strong mix of technical and experience background, understanding how the strongest strategies are founded in sound technical concepts and enabled by design
  • Experience conducting stakeholder interviews or other forms of primary research (focus groups, surveys, etc.) and producing the derived strategic insights.
  • Comfortable working with data to integrating data deep dives into strategic frameworks
  • Strong ability to manage projects simultaneously, managing time and prioritizing effectively across multiple initiatives
  • Skilled with Microsoft suite and common design tools to publish high-fidelity strategic concepts, frameworks and customer journeys
  • Incredible attention to detail, and precision in all deliverables
  • Exceptional verbal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • A curious mind and willingness to learn new things
  • Engaging team player, excited to collaborate and self-start new ideas and solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or diploma in Marketing, Social Science, Business, Design/UX, Technology, Engineering or similar, or commensurate experience
