Sr. Technology Generalist
ICF is seeking a Sr. Technology Generalist to support a new science and engineering analytical program. Your work will contribute to enabling the U.S. to uphold its leadership in computing, communications, and information science and engineering. You will promote understanding of the principles and uses of advanced computing, communications, and information systems in service to society and support advanced cyberinfrastructure that enables and accelerates discovery and innovation across all science and engineering disciplines.
This role is based in Alexandria, VA. This is an opportunity to contribute to an important project from its beginning, work with the latest and emerging technologies, and all while building a great career at ICF!
Duties to include, but not limited to:
Assisting program officers in reviewer identification and recruitment, scientific support on merit review panels, post‐award management, program portfolio analysis, and community outreach
Assist in Program Planning
Assist in Review Management
Assist in Program Management
Assist in Award Management
Assist in Post-Award Oversight
Based on where you best align, you will support one of the following:
support Learning, Workforce, and Development programs and the Cyberinfrastructure for Sustained Scientific Innovation cross‐cutting program
supporting the breadth of a division’s programs
support on Networking Technology and Systems and Computer Systems programs
support a program making large‐scale, multi‐sector awards (i.e., the National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes)
Education and Experience Requirements:
Master’s Degree and 12+ years’ experience or a Ph.D and 8 years of experience (Degree in Computer Network System fields (e.g., Computer Science is encouraged, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity))
Technical background in Networking, Cybersecurity, IoT, Cyber physical security, embedded systems, or related, to understand the funded research at a high level
Differentiate between an innovative proposal and one regurgitating requirements
Follow subject matter debate and discussion to an extent
Experience in managing research projects such as on a large research team, or experience providing this kind of support to government funding agencies as a Science and Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) contractor
Familiarity with research, project, and program management
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Recruiting experts for panels
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote
Advocate of agency collaboration tools: Zoom, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint
Ability to script and automate (using Python, R or Visual Basic)
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
