Solutions Architect

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to produce holistic technical concepts and support business development in our Public Sector Group!  Experience in Digital Modernization for the Federal Government is preferred. 

Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. 

US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required due to Federal contract requirements. 

The Solutions Architect will play a critical role in supporting our Public Sector Group. Our clients span state and federal agencies. The ideal candidate for this position will work hands-on with internal teams and clients as a trusted advisor. They will lead design and technical discussions and assist in the design of solutions for proposals. We are looking for a creative technologist who can communicate technology decisions to business leadership, collaborate with internal technology partners, and help guide project implementation teams who may not share a technology background. Preventing the problem is the goal but finding the solution is your focus. You believe that it can always be made better, faster, and more reliable!

Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day in this Solutions Architect role:

  • Develop the vision for the solution, including technology and development practices, by working with various stakeholders and constituents, including other Solution Architects.

  • Own the technical decisions of the pre-sales effort, arriving at them through a collaborative and team-based approach.

  • Stay abreast of technology trends, organizational approaches, standards, and solution designs of other domains to augment your concepts and decisions.

  • Evaluate technical capabilities of third-party vendor applications and participate in the vendor selection process.

  • Design and develop proof-of-concept solutions to validate technical approaches and strategy.

  • Analyze and validate assumptions—technical and non-technical—during initial business development phases.

  • Assess solution/project/project fitness for technology landscape and company strategy; document potential risks to ensure informed decision making.

  • Understand existing enterprise assets, including frameworks, patterns, and subsystems; ensure teams use them where appropriate.

  • Publish, socialize, and evangelize the assets you have developed with our broader architecture community.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. 

  • US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required due to Federal contract requirements. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline.

  • 5 or more years of experience with AWS, Azure, or container cloud services.

  • Certified AWS or GCP, Azure, or other cloud, or ready to get certified

  • 8+ years of experience working with solution teams to frame customer problems, find ways to address them, and delivering solutions that meet their needs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated understanding of industry standards for building services in IaaS/PaaS/SaaS using Cloud environments.

  • Demonstrated understanding of TOGAF, Product Management principles, and Agile methodologies. SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience a plus.

  • Preferably experience with modern container orchestration systems: Kubernetes, Mesos, DC/OS, Swarm.

  • Experience in leading human centered design workshops to better identify the problems to solve.

  • Experience in developing and delivering Digital Modernization solutions for Federal clients.
